Meet Justin
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Therapist / Counselor

The base of any solid structure is a sure foundation.
Every counselor has a primary focus for their clients, that which is grounded in and developed around their own personal passions and life experiences. My focus is in helping people’s roots run deeper. In a world where the news changes by the moment, where families can fracture with one social media post, and where so much of the population fixates on how they appear to others, I aim to bring the conversation back to what is important: who we attempt to be when no one is looking. Life offers us a variety of masks to wear in order to feel accepted by others. My goal is to help you gain the courage and wisdom to take your mask(s) off and to let the world contend with you, instead of continually attempting to bend to the world’s ever-changing rules.
Depression, anxiety, addiction, difficult adjustments, and past events often cloud people’s perceptions and lead them to believe that we are powerless over them. I work to help empower others to see how they can enact change in the negative symptoms that they are experiencing, helping them to gain freedom from the things that have unintentionally transformed their lives into what they do not want it to be.
Personally speaking, I have lived in the Midwest, the South, the Northeast as well as in Europe, and I am considered a “third-culture kid”. The benefit of my unique identity is that I come from not only one life perspective; rather, I have been influenced by many different viewpoints, which has helped me navigate how many individuals’ unconscious societal and culturally driven upbringings influence their choices. (It is very difficult to solve a problem if you cannot identify what specifically caused it.)
Specific modalities that I use include CBT, EMDR, Hypnosis, Biofeedback, Mindfulness, Narrative, and Solution-Focused Therapy, depending on what needs arise. I have worked for many years with Military, First Responders, Trauma, Addiction, Siblings, Couples, Panic Disorders, Abuse (Physical, Psychological, Sexual), Depression, Anxiety, Self-Doubt, Hopelessness, as well as family members of those struggling with the aforementioned issues.
I have created and run marriage retreats, as well as facilitate finance workshops.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy has been a powerful tool, allowing healing to come to without our walls up. During hypnosis we get at the root which is causing the dis-ease in their lives. Hypnosis doesnt overwrite the memory, but instead breaks up the memory, offering you a viseral memory alternative, keeping the powerful wound from being as powerful.
During hypnosis people are still aware of the world around them, able to come out of their light trance whenever they like.

Trauma
Traumatic, powerful events lock our bodies up. Trauma work is all about breaking up those strong viseral reactions our bodies have.
Trauma doesnt always have to be a powerful singular event, it can also be a series of lessons learned from parents, family, society etc. These forms the beliefs we have about ourselves and the way we see the world.

Military & First Responders
Being a Service Member myself, I have also worked with a large number of Police and First Responders, both individually and at marriage retreats. Though I have not been where you have been I can understand the bond of the brother and sisters we serve with, the dark humor we use to cope with, how we have to cope with alternate relatities between work and home.
LCSW Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision offered to LSW's seeking to further their career. Supervision includes not only case consulation and skill development but the fundamentals of running a practice. My goal as a Clinical Supervisor is to offer Supervisees everything they need to hit the ground running once they are fully licensed. I offer Indivudual and Group Supervision options for those working with adults.
